Whilst doing some research for my dissertation and looking for inspiration for our latest project, I came across a list of taglines, collected by chom chom advertising. The collection was made in 2009, so it might be slightly out of date, but despite this it’s amazing - there are 365 to scan through.
I found it really interesting to see the variety that’s out there in terms of tone of voice and what companies have chosen to represent themselves. Some are a little bit cheesy – Irish Spring Soap: Manly yes, but I like it, too – so expect some entertainment. Other gems include:
American Dairy Association: Behold the power of cheese.
Fancy Feast: Good taste is easy to recognize.
AT&T: Reach out and touch someone.
Calvin Klein: Between love and madness lies obsession.
Coors: The silver bullet.
El Pollo Loco: When you’re crazy for chicken.
FedEx: The world on time.
Geritol: My wife, I think I’ll keep her.
Honda: The power of dreams.
National Pork Board: Pork. The other white meat.
Secret Deodorant: Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.
Wendy’s: Where’s the beef?
